Ok... So I burned a DVD so my parents could play it on the PS2 to watch it.... I know... Cheap-o-rents...

So the -R disc didnt work in the rom... Playes fine on my PC.. I read some where about booktyping.

I have read some limited articles on booktyping, I was wondering if anyone could help me with this?

Don't you need a mod chip to read DVD-R?

Ive read it was for the games.. Or I would have to use a swap disk or somthing...

Google is turning up limited results for me... Some one said somthing about PAL being the only format PS2 can read, but that sounds like bs anyhow.

Some one said they where useing +R and they would hit and miss. So far I havnt seen a specified media type that always works for movies...

If your ps2 lens is going out it wont read DVD + or - R's. My V7 PS2 can read DVD +/- R just fine, unmodded ps2's can read burned DVD movies so long as the region code is correct. The PAL thing is garbage... unless your ps2 is modded it will only read what format games it reads (NSTC, NSTC-J, or PAL).
