Ok I'm pretty sure on what answers I'm gonna get so I'll be very specific. Basically I put together a new rig about a month ago with the following parts:

MOBO

VIDEOCARD

HEATSINK

w/ arctic silver 5

Power supply
thermaltake tough power 750 watt.

So basically I am smelling these toxic fumes kinda and I have no idea where it is after extensive searching. I also have no reason to believe anything is burning because
my core temps are between 30-40c under idle and it doesint ever go beyond 52c.

Another thing is all my capacitors looks in good condition, I don't see anything leaking or burning up.

And my power supply is brand new I replaced my old antec neo he 550 watt because i smelled burning smells as well which is why i replaced it.

The smell is on and off sometimes stronger than others any ideas why I am smelling this or am i just too sensitive to smell and its the normal smell of electronics?

That is a tough one, of course, first thing i would say is power supply, ive smelt that a few times...lol, but if you replaced the ps already the only other thing i would imagine would be the mobo...ive also had one burn up (years ago). Kinda hard to say. I can tell you that brand new electronics have a strong smell for about a week....I actually like it, but if that is what you smell it should be gone shortly.

I like the new computer hardware smell too :) Must be the computer in me.

lol yeah im aware of the new electronic smell but its been a month so i'm completely lost also my system runs stable I have 0 problems.

you may try taking the PSU apart to check for a short. I had one where a ceramic resistor burned up, and the leads fell back together. I though I smelled something funny, but it contiued to work. A few days later it decided to go up in flames...literally. It was not a good psu though.

It wouldn't be the caps, they are solid, so no fluid from them. You might have spilled something in the room and didn't realize you did it. The only smell you get from computers are burning plastic and rubber smells when things heat up inside them. As for a chemical smell check the floor or someone spilled something or placed it near the air intake vent of the AC system in the house.

Toxic smell eh ? I'm all for removing the warning labels and let Darwinism do its thing......
