Buy 980 for a very low price, or buy 1070?

Hi guys. I have an option to buy GTX 980 for approximately 210 dollars. It's from my friend, and I have been building his PC myself. It's not that old. He intends to buy GTX1080 once it comes out, and he offered me his GTX980 for that price.

I indend to buy GTX1070 once it comes out, since I play at 1080p.

What do you think guys? Should I buy it, or wait for GTX1070?

I have GTX680 right now.

Hold onto the 680 for now until the GTX107/80 come out. Let the market adjust to the shake up of these new GPUs.

980 for $210 is a steal. Go for it, especially since its your friends, and you know it works well. I'm assuming your in the US, but in Canada 980's cost like $700.

Of course, the 1070 is better but you would also pay at least $300 MORE for it.

I am from the Czech Republic. But 980 here costs right now around 630 dollars.

I wouldn't expect board members to honor this, but MSRP is $379 on a 1070. It's barely over that "$300 more" at stock pricing.
Edit: I'd agree with the above. Unless the 680 is getting unbearable, hold out a bit.

If the 1070 is going to be $379 in your area, then go for that (seems a little low?). I'd expect it to be around $600-$700 in Canada for sure 🙁
