So I heard somewhere that certain manufactures will buy back their parts and put it on credit towards a newer version. Is any of this true?

EVGA does that if you buy a GPU from them and a new one is released within like 6 months I think. Someone I'm sure will correct me if I'm wrong. Thats the only one I know of.
