Buying Ammo

Recently, when I logged onto Steam, all of my stuff was messed up. All of
the keys were screwed up, and I had to change them all. But now when I buy
ammo, I can't just buy 30 at a time, I have to buy as much as fills the gun.
How do I fix this? I already tried changing the keys in the options. What's
the command in teh console that will allow me to only buy one ammo. Not all
for the one weapon.

You mean you can't buy a single clip per keypress and instead it's now
all or nothing? Delete your config.cfg file in the counter strike
source/cstrike/cfg folder. That will reset everything back to defaults,
hopefully fixing your problem. Sure you haven't added any scripts to
CS:S recently?

It's worth noting that there was a very small update to the source
enginer released over Steam recently. May that be the cause of your pain?

As long as I've been playing CS:S, it has always been this way-- whether
purchasing primary or secondary ammo, it auto buys enough to max out my
carry.

Agreed, I've been playing the game since it came out - and I've never
been able to buy anything less than the "max" amount.

By Default, by pressing the comma button, you will only buy one clip of
primary ammo.. press the period key, and you buy one clip of secondary
ammo..

For CS 1.6 yes that is right, you can buy one clip at a time (which was
great, who needs 40 bullets for an awp :/).

In CS:S, for me it has always bought max ammo unless I dont have the funds,
which is irratating but not game breaking.

By the looks of it I must be one of the few people here that has the
proper single-clip buying operation in CS:S.

Weird that I've never heard about this problem on the HL forums...

Mine buys single-clips fine... which is as it should be.

Incidentally, I have the retail version - are the people with problems using
a downloaded version?

mine buys full ammo - always has on css. although on 1.6 you could buy
single clips just fine. i just figured it was a change theyd made for
css. tbh, when it was a single clip buy, id just hammer the comma and
period keys a few times to get full ammo anyway, so i prefer the new way.

and yes, i am using retail version so who knows....
