Looking to get a HD 7950 GPU to play Crysis 3 on high settings. I want to know if this will work or do I need to upgrade anything else, here is my current setup:
Video Card: Sapphire RADEON 6850
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 3.0GHz
Memory: Patriot Sector 5 8GB
Motherboard: ASRock 970 EXTREME3
Power Supply: Cooler Master 600W PSU
Hard Drive: Seagate 300GB HDD

The PSU you have is not high quality and likely doesn't make 600w. Coolermaster PSUs are generally junk. That said, if it ran your 6850 the 7950 should be alright. I would replace it with a better unit though. Corsair, Antec, XFX, Seasonic make good units.

Your CPU is a bit old. It shouldn't bottleneck the GPU, but it will be a weaker spot in highly intensive games. That said, it should be fine still.

Not all cooler master psu's are equal. Without a model I wouldn't jump straight to that conclusion.

I agree with overclocking the cpu, last I heard, amd is also releasing new chips later this year so might as well wait because doing the oc will be good enough.

I'd suggest an SSD too, those are great.
