Question Cable for data transfer with Kobo eReader ?

I bought this cable:

I wanted to use it as data transfer cable between a Kobo eReader and a Windows 11 computer.

However, the computer does not recognize the Kobo eReader through this cable.

The computer recognizes the reader with the original cable shipped by the manufacturer.

Do you know why the cable I bought from AliExpress does not work as data transfer cable for the Kobo?

Looking at the web page it appears you purchased a "Charging" cable.
Not a charge/DATA cable.
Plus it only has 4 wires and 2 contacts on its port. So not a data cable.

Where do you see the number of wires and contacts?

The pics on your link.
The cable has 4 wires Red/Black/Green/White. 2 hots and 2 grounds.
The other pic shows the connector. It only has 2 contacts on the top of the plug .
Depends on how the device is wired. Some devices use 4 wires. 2 for power and 2 for data.
Some use 4 wires for charging and 4 wires for data.
Or other combinations of the above.

As an example I have 2 USB-C charge cables.
If I use one my phone will charge in 2.5 hours.
If I use the other one it takes 7 hours to charge.
They look almost identical in appearance.

Afraid so.
It might work as a data cable for some devices, but not yours.
