Hi, I am using an Enermax Revolution D.F. 650W PSU and the CPU and PCIE cables wont fit. They are both 6+2 pin, and the 6 pin fits in but the extra 2 pin doesn’t on both the CPU and PCIE ones, ive tried both the ends still don’t work. Only the motherboard one worked..

I am quite nervous it’s my first build, so quite worried lol.

Solution
There are no 6+2 cables at the PSU end. Only at the PCIe end. You are right to be nervous, because they ALL need to be plugged in properly and while I can't reach through to make sure you plug them in correctly, it should be very simple.

The graphics card end of the PCIe cables will be 6+2. Period. There are VERY few PSU models that ever used strictly 6 pin or 8 pin connectors, they have almost all been 6+2 across the board for a while now. Yours have only 6+2 PCIe/PEG cables.

The motherboard end of the EPS 12v CPU auxiliary power cable will ALWAYS be a 4+4 split design where the connector can break in two for boards that only need a single four pin auxiliary power connector, or in cases where there are 2 xEPS 4+4, you can also use a...

The graphics card end of the PCIe cables will be 6+2. Period. There are VERY few PSU models that ever used strictly 6 pin or 8 pin connectors, they have almost all been 6+2 across the board for a while now. Yours have only 6+2 PCIe/PEG cables.

The motherboard end of the EPS 12v CPU auxiliary power cable will ALWAYS be a 4+4 split design where the connector can break in two for boards that only need a single four pin auxiliary power connector, or in cases where there are 2 xEPS 4+4, you can also use a full 4+4 plus one extra 4 pin, or all of them. But they will NEVER be a solid 8 pin and they will never be a 6+2 pin, Plus, they SHOULD be keyed differently, all of them, than other connectors. Pay attention. Some have square plastic surrounds around the pins while others are half circles. They should only fit where they belong unless you force them, so long as you are connecting them to the right output and input on the correct end.

The only connectors that are interchangeable are USUALLY the PSU end of the PCIe and EPS connectors, so that any PSU output labeled PCIe or EPS/CPU can be used with either cable.

If you are still in doubt, FIND a video of your PSU model that shows the unit being installed. Several of them if necessary. Do not guess. Be certain.

Solution
Thank you so much bro! I just finished my first ever build with your help. It looks amazing I really appreciate it! Can I get your opinion on it? It runs any good beautifully.

Looks great man. You should post some pics of it in our members build section here:
