I've been having recent issues with my Ryzen 7 5800X that i just picked up recently. I've been used to my pc crashing since I'm running an all amd build, but these crashes are a little too frequent. I feel they would only happen while playing demanding games (I play Destiny 2 and MW3 on near max settings) and would no matter what in game. I don't get a minidump as it is a black screen crash and then restarts, so I went to event log and saw this error.

A fatal hardware error has occurred.

Reported by component: Processor Core
Error Source: Machine Check Exception
Error Type: Cache Hierarchy Error
Processor APIC ID: 0

The details view of this entry contains further information.

I've checked every time my pc has crashed and it has always ended up with this error. My cpu is undervolted to 1.1 volts. It idles around 47-52c and under stress it can reach 79. Before the undervolt, it would idle 79-80 and under stress 88-91.

Specs
Mobo: Asus B450M-A 2
CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X
GPU: Red Devil RX 5700 XT
RAM: 16GB (2 x 8GB) Red RGB Corsair Vengeance
PSU: Corsair RM750e
Storage: a 256GB SATA SSD and a 1TB SATA HDD both with more than 35GB free.

Hello, not sure if anyone still needs help with this, but i used to have this problem too.

I tried a lot of things: i updated motherboard bios and GPU driver, stock settings in bios, test RAM and change RAM sticks to different slots and even just 1 stick at a time, nothing helped.

Until at some point i re-installed windows and then it didnt crash, so at first i thought it was windows, but no..
It turned out to be my GPU overclock, after the windows re-install i didn't overclock the GPU, so thats when i figured it out.

TLDR; for my it was my gpu overclock being to much in some games

I hope this may help someone having this problem :)
