I a general question about calculating the power UPS needed for different setups.

A typical spec for a UPS (just an example) could be 3000VA / 2250W. Does the total amount of computer power supplies wattage, when added up, have to equal less than the 2250W? Is the 3000VA simply the amount of time the UPS can power 2250W for? If you add extra battery packs then that would only increase the VA value and extend the run time?

Does the total amount of computer power supplied wattage, when added up, have to equal less than the 2250W?{YES, or you'll damage the UPS} Is the 3000VA simply the amount of time the UPS can power 2250W for?{NO, the VA or,Volt-Ampere,spec is another power rating} If you add extra battery packs{to the UPS}then would that only increase the VA value and extend the run time?{YES,but the battery-recharge circuitry in the UPS may be damaged if it has to charge more batteries than it was designed to handle}
