My problem is that I can´t open the BIOS when it prompts me to do so. When it posted and it prompted me to press F1 it received the input although now when i´m it say´s "DEL or F2: Open BIOS" nothing happens. I already Flashbacked my BIOS and reseated my RAM and GPU but the error persists. There is also the problem that I´m not receiving any signals on my keyboard or my Monitor. It only works like every 5th try.

Motherboard: ASUS X670-P Wifi
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800x3d
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 2x32 gb DDR5 5600MHz
Storage: Samsung 990 Evo
GPU: Geforce RTX 2070 Super

Thanks for the help in advance and sorry for my bad english.

A couple of things you could try...

Before you start up your pc unplug the keyboard , turn on your pc and when you are at the desktop wait a while and you should see a pop up saying no keyboard detected , at that point plug the keyboard in and try again.

Press ctrl alt del to bring up the blue screen , at the bottom right use the circle button to do a restart and whilst it is restarting keep shift key pressed and you will come up with all sorts of menu options.

Look in device manager to see if you have any yellow triangles at the side of anything.

It's a completly New build so windows isnt on it yet and to select a Boot drive I need to get into the BIOS. I'm currently just Stuck on the Del or f2 to open BIOS screen and Nothing happens.

Is the keyboard plugged directly into a mobo port?

If you have it connected to a peripheral like the monitor and the monitor usb isn't setup properly yet or isn't receiving power it won't be detected.

Yes it is plugged into the Motherboard. I've also tried the to use Internal integrated graphics from the CPU and still get the same error.

I think I should fix the turning on and output issue first. It only turns on and displays sometimes. It always does it once after i reseat my RAM and randomly after I press the reset button on the case and plug Monitor and Keyboard in and out while it was on but I could not reproduce that yet. Edit: Got to reproduce it now pc needs to be running for about more than 5 minutes and the i need to press the reset button on the case but there is still no keyboard I also tried to reset the BIOS but still no keyboard input so I can enter the BIOS. Also switched the keyboard by now.

Hello Blatscher. If I'm understanding your problem, your keyboard works fine once you're booted into Windows, but you can't enter your BIOS during bootup. Here is one method to automatically boot into the BIOS screen. I hope that this helps.

  • Choose “Command Prompt” and run it “As Administrator.”
  • Type this command:
shutdown /r /fw
  • On the dialogue box that appears, choose “OK“.

I cant boot into Windows because i havent selected a boot drive in the BIOS yet. It´s just the Asus logo at the moment with the prompt:"Del or F2: Enter BIOS settings" but the input is not recognized. However my keyboard lights up and the F1 to end the post works fine.

Well, the next step seems to be to borrow or buy a keyboard, ideally a ps/2, and try it.

I've had computers with BIOS which didn't support USB keyboards well, but that was a very long time ago, like 20+ years. I'd be surprised if such a recent mobo acted like this.

Yeah i´m trying that next. However what i dont understand is that the Pc only sometimes gives an output and I dont know why and when. Could that be due to that Drivers are not yet installed.

Yeah, it's weird. It could be an iGPU setting. First you need to be able to to get into BIOS and configure it at will.

I have now connected a keyboard with Ps/2 connection but it still doesnt recognize the input. Should i sent a picture how the Pc and Monitor look like now.
