The first card has more Vram and a bigger bus but the second has higher clock speeds?
So is the second card the one that will be faster for gaming at 1080 or is it more about the Bus memory on the zotac that makes it the faster/better card overall for gaming at 1080?

The first card has a

Solution
Its a combination of those factors and the core count, the 780 has 2304 cores while the 770 only has only 1536, so while the 770 is clocked slightly higher, the increase in core count greatly increases the throughput of the card making it significantly more powerful than the 770.

The 780 is better. Clock speed doesn't always effect performance hugely as some of the best cards have relatively low clock speeds. The nvidia cards are the 760,770,780,780ti,titan. Basically the higher the number the better the card.

Ok but what makes the 780 better though? is it the bigger bus memory and Vram of the zotac that makes it better than the higher clocked 770?

Ok thanks now i understand, so going by the available spec's of all the GTX 780's out, that particular Zotac gtx 780 amp version is definitely the fastest at factory settings/values.
i did not realize that just because one card had the higher clocks that it was not actually the fastest so now i know what to look for in a cards spec. thanks again
