I recently got an Aureal Vortex sound card second hand. I needed it because my original on-board sound didn't support simultaneous recording and playback. Anyway, when I put this new sound card in everything went pear-shaped. Whenever I tried to play mp3's I would get a 'MMSYSTEM007' error message saying I didn't have enough memory to run the application!!! But it sometimes works and other times doesn't. When it doesn't work though I cant play any games or run programs like Game Voice. I tried reinstalling drivers and hardware, getting the new drivers, and I'm outta ideas. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

sounds like a irq problem when it does work look at your
system device manger and see what its irq is then set the
irq for that slot in your bios
some times plug and pray goofs this up so setting it should
make it work
