I have an old Macbook pro 13 inch (mid 2014) and it was having cooling issues.
I took out the back panel and found that the rubber which is present between the fan and the heatsink is missing. So i put hot glue there as i thought it would help stabilize the temperatures. Now im worried that the hot glue might melt. Is it possible or should i not worry.

Solution
The rubber would be for quieting the fan I would think....

Are you able to take a couple of photographs and post here via imgur?

Hot glue melting temperatures:

https://www.bobvila.com/articles/be...aching temperatures of,, wood, and even metal.

Melting seems unlikely and if melting occurs the Macbook is likely to be permanently damaged by some really high temperature event.

However, I would be concerned about any heat transfer requirements.

Just my immediate thoughts.
