My PC has been working fine for over a year until it started crashing: Critically Process died. After multiple clean installs of windows I tried sfc/scannow and got following message: windows resource protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some. I tried using the restore health command but after successful completion and restart of the system I got the same message+ error wouldn't stop.

Solution
Yes it could be a failing HDD but it could be other thinks like RAM issues.
Check the hard drive manufacturer and run their hard disk diagnostic utilities.
