Can I add any 2x8GB RAM to my current setup ?

I have 2x8GB Corsair DDR4-3000MHZ in ROW1 and ROW3 ..


Can I buy ANY 2x8GB DDR4-3000MHZ and put them in ROW2 and ROW4 ? will the two pairs work fine ?

Do I have to buy the exact same Corsair sticks in order for them to work ?

Most of the time it will work, using exact kits is preferred.
However, even identical kits run the risk of not working. Only sticks sold in kits are guaranteed to work.

I guess it is a trial and error then....Should buy a pair and then return it if it doesn't work....what happens when the ram sticks don't match ? System won't boot or something ... right ?

Wont boot, wont register the additional RAM, etc.
Most of the time it does work though, so if you need the RAM go ahead and buy it, if it dosent work return it.
