Can i connect my laptop with usb cable to internet

I believe that cable is only for power and not data. Haven't used one myself so i can't say for sure.

This cannot be used for LAN connectivity. I have seen those cables before, but they were used only for connecting old scanners from their base to the computer they need to sync to.

Some cable modems have both ethernet and USB connections. Only one can be used at a time, but if you have a cable modem, check it out. You might be able to connect it to your laptop.
