Hey i just got 2 of Corsair AF120 Performance Edition fans, but i think they are little bit too loud for me. So can i just use a software or my mobos UEFI or something to controll them. My MOBO is Gigabyte Z97P-D3
You can not control them via software or PWM, as they do not hae the PWM connection.
You can get a fan controller that has voltage regulation, which reduces the power to the fan to change the speed it spins.
However, they should include an adapter with them, that cuts the voltage down to lower fan speed and noise.
There is a low voltage adapter that comes with some fans. Its a short wire that you plug the fan into, then into a header. Though I dont know why you would use non PWM fans on a CPU cooler.

Yeah, didn't realize until I installed it. Would it be wise to use this elsewhere and put back stock fan?
nvm i just found out that there was included 2 things that reduce voltage
How did u do it!!! I am trying to slow down my corsair af120 on my 212 evo!!!
Maybe its a bit late, but some mobos doesnt require 4 pins fans in order to control the speed of the fans. Asus mobos let you control the speed and create fan profiles on 3 pin fans. I gues if you get your mobo software suite i´ll let you control the speed. hope it helps and sorry for my bad english.
