can i delid my 8600k with no delidding tools

I few months back i delidded my 4770k using the "vice only" method. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHey6tRtsFQ it worked great, no problems. But a few days ago i bought a 8600k and i am now wondering if i can use the same method for this one. i've been searching around for 1-2 hours now, but can't seem to find an answer :/

You can delid the 8600k without a delidding tool but it's just more risky.

You put your CPU at risk for damage if you don't use a tool designed for the expressed purpose of delidding. If you're okay with that, best of luck to you; however, I wouldn't recommend it as one slip could ruin your CPU.

Are you 100% sure? Using the vice method? I know it worked with earlier generations, but i think either the ihs or pcb is thinner on 8 gen. I don't have the guts to do the razor method. Have you tried it yourself, or do you have any sources?

Not what you want to hear, but if you are asking these questions you stand a HIGH chance of killing the CPU. The real questions are; why do you want to do delid? can you afford to kill the chip? and what cooler and thermal paste are you currently using? if you are using a stock cooler, you would be better served upgrading to a high performance air cooler or water cooler with some arctic silver or comparable paste.
