I wanted to upgrade from 2x8 Gigs to 2x16 Gigs with total 32 Gigs.
Based on this user manual https://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05357609.pdf

That I just have maximum of RAM 16 Gb. My problem is I required more RAM since I use this laptop for Android Development (Need more on emulator) and 2x8 Gb is not enough.
Currently that RAM installed is 8GB SK Hynix 2400MHz x 2.

My Question is, can I use 2 x 16GB RAM on this maximum 16GB RAM laptop? What happens If I just force it to use the 2 x 16GB ?

Thank you Mate!

Depending on the design the system may simply not boot with an unsupported amount of RAM. On the other hand it may boot and only present 16 GB as usable. It's your move.

Did you read the user manual page 4? The user manual said the maximum of RAM is 16 Gb. Does it means I only have 16 gb? What if I required more?

According to my research, the maximum RAM supported by your laptop is 16GB (8GB per slot).

You cannot force it to use more than that.

If you tried installing 16GB in each slot, your laptop would very likely not work as it would not be able to recognise the 16GB sticks.

By all means try it, but if it doesn't work you will have to buy a laptop which supports 32GB RAM
Preferrably one with 32GB already installed.
