Question Can I keep a monitor plugged in two different ports to two different systems (while only one is turned on at a time)?

My desk space is kinda limited, and I'm going to use two different computers: a company laptop, for work, and a desktop PC for my personal usage

For the laptop, I have it setup with a Dock Station, to which I connect an external keyboard, external mouse, external display, and so on and so forth

The display is mounted on an articulated desk base that is in a perfect position for me, so I'd like to use it both for my personal computer and for my work laptop

What I'd like to do is:
  • Have it connected to the Dock Station via HDMI
  • Also have it connected to my PC via DisplayPort
Would that work? Or could it cause major issues?

I have 2 systems connected to one monitor all of the time. both running folding.
Just switch between computers with the input selector on the monitor.

Oh, awesome!

Yeah, TVs have that, I don't know how it didn't cross my mind that monitors would have too XD
