Thanks for the extra information. But there is not enough information on the existing 2 GB memory module to say what is compatible and what is not compatible. It is often difficult to match separate/individual memory modules that are not from a dual channel kit due to memory characteristic variations.

To get the best performance out of the system and to ensure memory module compatibility, it is recommended that dual channel memory be used, such as 2 x 2 GB modules, or 2 x 4 GB modules that are known to be compatible with the ECS G41T-R3 motherboard (which officially supports up to 1066 MHz modules; but higher frequency modules will run at 1066 MHz by default).

Perhaps the following memory could be considered instead -

Kingston 2 x 2 GB @ 1066 MHz, part number KVR1066D3N7K2/4G

Kingston 2 x 4 GB @ 1066 MHz, part number KVR1066D3N7K2/8G



Note: no compatible dual channel kits by Adata, Apacer, Corsair, or Transcend memory found (so far).

Additional compatible memory is here for compatible memory according to ECS testing. Most memory here are single modules, but some are dual channel kits. Note, click on "Memory" tab to see list of compatible memory.

Then clean it!!! Otherwise in few days you will wonder why your pc is overheating and working slow
Anyways to insert the new ram you will need to open the case, so why not do it now to give the needed information

While at it - its not a must to use dual channel but it is recommended, many of the older pc`s we use on our company have completely different brand and capacity ram sticks. They still work (as long as the frequency doesnt exceed the one managed by the mobo. Ofcourse that means your pc will show (for your case) 6GB ram but it will work somewhat slower than when it is dual channel
At the end I will recommend you to look for 2 sticks to buy so you are sure they are both same brand model freq and capacity

ok i know how to put ram but if they dont work il just take out the 2gb and put the 1 stick 4gb and sell the 2gb to buy the same model thnaks

Kingston memory part number KVR13N9S8/4 is not shown on compatibility list in ECS motherboard QVL nor at Kingston website memory search.

However, all modules may not have been tested with the motherboard (yet), so the module may be compatible anyway. But this is not guaranteed.
