I have 2 4gb sticks of evga ram and i just bought 16gb(2x8GB) of corsair vengeance pro ram. they have the same timing and cas latency and the same speed. But the only difference is 2 sticks are 4gb and the other two are 8gb and the voltages are 1.5 and 1.65. I know ram compatibility was more of a problem with DDR2 sticks and that more mother boards just under clock the to match the smallest dimm. But i want to be sure. My MOBO supports ram overclocking. so can i just under clock the 1.65v sticks to 1.5v?Will i have to physically change it or will my MOBO do it automatically? I don't see the sizes being a problem with dual channel. but
I'm hardly an expert.
****UPDATE**** Turns out the voltages were mislabeled on microcenter.com I went to corsair's website and the voltages, timing, and cas latency all match. the only difference is the size of the sticks.
