Can i mix these two RAM frequency's?

hey guys, so i currently only have a stick 4gb of CCL Choice 4gb ddr3 1333mhz, and i went to purchase another stick from CCL but they seem to only sell CCL Choise 4gb 1600mhz sticks now, can i mix these two sticks on my system?

Technically yes. Your motherboard will automatically down clock the 1600 RAM to 1333 to match the other stick.

However, it's always a good idea to buy modules in pairs. The reason is because the two modules are tested and compatibility is verified. When you mix independent sticks, there's no guarantee they'll work together.

I can imagine they would as they are both sold under the CCL Choice name

Can try, there's no guarantee the two will play nice together, might play, might need adjustments to play, might not play period 😉 Sorry name has nothing to do with it, you could buy two identical packages of DRAM and it's a 50/50, maybe play, maybe not.. Chances can lessen when mixing data rates, timings, voltages, brands, etc

Tradesman is right. The name is just a sticker. You can buy two different or the same manufactures that have the same speed, size, timing and still there's no guarantee.

IMO, bite the bullet and buy 2 x 4 GB kit.
