Hi,

My system specs are

Intel pentium dual core 1.8GHz
pi945GCM mercury motherboard
400W power supply
2GB Ram
256 B hard disk
intel integrated graphics card 128Mb

I am looking to upgrade my psu with Corsair CMPSU-500CXV2UK 500 Watts PSU and graphic card with Sapphire AMD/ATI Radeon HD 6770 1 GB GDDR5 Graphics Card. Will this upgrade worth ? many games like gta 4 has minimum requirements like intel core 2 duo 1.8 GHz but i have Intel pentium dual core E2160 1.8GHz.Will i able to run this games with my current processor.

I still do play some very non demanding titles games.Such as WOW etc.

But overall if you think you can play battlefield 3, skyrim or newer demanding titles even if you were to overclock it to 3.2ghz you wont be able to play cuz of not having a discrete gpu.

On minimum, yes (and probably with a lot of lag). But more than that, I doubt it. It's a really CPU-hungry game. I'd recommend buying an e8500 or e8600, just to be sure. Or any quad-core.

EDIT: Added lag part.

You could play any game you want, as long as it loads you can.
of course saying that you could end up with unplayable frame rates in many recent games.
The GPU upgrade will help greatly as those onboard intel GPU are just plain useless
But in reality a lot of games can still reach playable framerates at lower detail settings.

honestly just install the games and try if it doesn't run well you know for future reference.

If you buy the graphics card and powersupply..and overclock your cpu up to 2.4 or so you should be able to play quite a few newer games, as it seems most want you to have a dual core cpu running at 2.0 to 2.4Ghz.. you'll never hit 3.2 with that thing

Even with it at 2.4 he will get a masssive cpu bottleneck, I have an e6750 at 2.74 and my 5770 runs at only 50% gpu usage

I realize that it is quite sometime after your last post and the issue may have been resolved, but you should not have to upgrade your PSU, just get a 550ti play on 1024*720(720P) resolution and you should get decent frames (30-35FPS) on GTA 4 with the default settings (High textures, high water quality, meduim refelction low shadows Night shadows OFF*4 AF Distance 23 detail 30 Vehicle density 30) Oh ya and you want to hae at least 4GB of RAM

That dual core is not built for gaming, i have a mobo with the same dualcore (E2160) and i've installed asus 210 silent 1gb gpu (a low end gpu), i was able to play games released till the year 2012. For the new games, sorry to say, you have to build a new pc. with the same pc, I have played [COD Modern warfare 3, Crysis 2, Prototype and NFS Run in Medium Settings]
