[SOLVED] Can i plug 3pin fan cable in 4pin fan slut in motherboard?

hey guys,
Can i plug 3pin fan cable in 4pin fan slut in motherboard?
i got 275r airflow corsair case and the fans come with the case are all 3 pins and i do not have any 3pins sluts in my motherboard
my motherboard is msi a-pro x570
also when i try to plug in the 3 pins in the 4 mins slut there is a plastic piece prevent me to do
really need your help guys

Make sure you align these guides with that plastic piece on the header... it's made to go one way only. This is how it should go in:

A 3 pin fan will work in a 4 pin motherboard fan header.

yes, the 4pin slut can take it.

make sure you are using correct cable and correct header. check your motherboard user manual for correct ports/headers.
are these RGB fans? if so, you may possibly be trying to plug the RGB cable into fan header or vice-versa.

you should be able to see by comparing the shape of the 3-pin connector to the 4-pin motherboard header how they will naturally slide together. there will be one pin left exposed.
if they are not fitting together you have the fan cable up-side down or something.
