Question Can I put files on formatted USB drive for Win10 Media Creation Tool

I want to use my 128GB stick to load Windows 10 Tool, but I heard it asks for format.
DO I need to remove my files first, and after it's loaded can I put the files back in while it's formatted?

yes, the create tool will wipe the stick so save your data elsewhere first.

the tool will create the instalation and you can then add your files back.

The Media Creation Tool is going to wipe it in the process, so, use a USB stick with nothing already on it, or, at least fully expecting to lose whatever is on it.....

yes you can, as long as you're not bothered by the extra files it created - and you should not remove any of those if course

In the creation of the Windows install, it will wipe ALL files currently existing on that USB stick.
It warns you of this at least twice.

If there is anything on that USB you wish to keep, save it to elsewhere first.

After you make the boot disk, you can copy your files back to it, but it's better to get a separate disk for the files. Also if you have your only copy of files are on that disk, bad idea, make sure you keep another copy. USB flash drives are not the most reliable things to keep an only copy on.
