I have upgraded everything in this computer than I can, so far. I have a 600W PSU, 3 2TB hard drives and a 60GB solid state drive. 32GB RAM. I am running Linux Mint 18.

I have to use my GeForce GTX 530 video card because I can't get anything better for this motherboard/BIOS.

My CPU:
product: AMD FX(tm)-8100 Eight-Core Processor
vendor: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD]
bus info: cpu@0
version: AMD FX(tm)-8100 Eight-Core Processor
slot: CPU 1
size: 1600MHz
capacity: 2800MHz
width: 64 bits
clock: 200MHz

Can I replace my mobo with the following one, and just take the CPU, and everything else off my old one and put it on the new one, without losing anything? It is the same format, socket, and chipset.

The problem you will run into is while size/shape wise its fine, HP and the like do not conform to ATX standards, the holes will likely not line up for the standoffs in your case with the new board, so you won't be able to safely mount it. You will need a new case as well.

It looks like most of the screw holes line up. Not sure about the back panel ports all lining up, looking at these two pictures here, though.

Looking at the two pictures that SkyNetRising posted, it looks like most of the screw holes line up and probably wouldn't be a problem. However, it does look like the back ports will be a problem. Can you recommend a good case?

The back panel on that HP may not pop out, many times they are molded in. No it won't line up.

Also while the holes LOOK like they will line up we have had many members burned by this as they do not actually line up. I could be wrong but its something to keep in mind.

Worst case you start building, they don't align, and you order a new case then.

As for recommendations the Corsair SPEC-02 is a good budget priced case.

Thank you for your help.

Is there a better option for my motherboard, or is this one good?

This one is fine, however what is your goal, if its overclocking this board isn't up to it. If its just to be able to put a better GPU in then it will work well. Just don't expect any better performance out of this board (or any AMD board for that matter).
