Product: HP Pavilion - 15-cc184cl
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11
Can I upgrade to a new processor?

I know its soldered in.
A local shop says they can replace it with a current processor.

If you think this makes sense?

Which ones can I use or do you recommend?

Can "I" replace....
is different than "A local shop says they can replace"...

What CPU is in it now, and what do they say they can change it to?

The potential exists for that chassis to accept newer motherboards rather than them actually de-soldering and soldering in a new chip. Laptop motherboard replacement is somewhat labor intensive plus the cost of the entire laptop motherboard. Generally not worth it for an end consumer. At that point they can just buy a newer, lesser specced, model that is faster.
