Here's my system specs.

MB-Asus M5A88-M (https://www.asus.com/in/Motherboards/M5A88M/)
CPU: amd fx 4310
RAM: 8GB (2x4GB) Transcend 1600 DDR3
PSU: Corsair VS650

I'm planning to buy this graphics card (Asus STRIX-GTX970 ) to run on this specs so that atleast the game would run without lagging/jerking (my thought). will it work out ?

EVERYTHING on stock settings nothing overclocked here.

Solution
I would suggest a CPU upgrade, it probably won't bottleneck the GPUtoo much but it will definitely decrease the potential performance that you can get with running the GPU with a faster CPU. Other than that, your PSU will be fine, games that are not too CPU intensive should run fairly smoothly at 1080p, and depending on what games you are playing you should be able to play on setting between mid-very high settings (very high on things like older games or games with less intensive graphics like Fallout 3)

Hey thanks for the reply, :)

I might be playing all the modern games like fallout 4, gta V, but as far as graphics goes I don't need high setting but I would appreciate if the resolution s 1080p! so can a CPU upgrade will work can I go with this spec for a 1080p gameplay with low settings for fairly smooth play ?

From what I understand, you are asking that if you upgrade your CPU, then you will be able to play games like Fallout 4 and GTA V at low settings with smooth gameplay?
As I said, with the CPU upgrade you could play those games on medium-high settings (but not very high or ultra) with smooth gameplay (60fps), and without the CPU upgrade, you could probably expect to play on medium settings with possibly around 30-60fps

Solution

Can I install GTX 1060 in this MB with current specs ?

Yes, in the second slot down (PCIe 16x), but the upgrade for the CPU still applies, especially when you are upgrading to a faster card than the 970

Thank you bro, that was really helpful.

i have a Asus 970, chinese garbage, nothing works right and nothing makes sense with those chinese, buy evga at least, but yet i run gta 5 and everything else on ultra settings on 2560x1440x60 hrz with no lag or stutter. aa all on but 2x enough since i run on 2560x1440. cpu is i5 6600k, nothing is overclocked. had a i5 2500k before running it with no problem too. actually passmark benchmark is with the new cpu only 100 points score higher than with 2500k and 8 gig ddr3 compared to 6600k with 16gig ddr4 and the same video card. but i have to say that i run everything before on a evga gtx 560ti 448 core on almost maxed out settings too but on 1080, till july 2016, with no problems. as i am a graphics freak, quality is a must ! only bought new because my old mobo fucked off ! i actually saw only little improvements after changing from 560ti 448 to 970 in graphics quality. i even called nvidia and evga to ask why i should to change my video card as it runs everything without a problem. but maybe this card was exceptional?
