Can I run Dota 2 at Max Settings?

Hello Guys! im new to this forum.
Im trying to Build a Gaming PC.
Im hoping for everyone to be kind at me.

Btw, this is my System Specs #1:

CPU > Intel Pentium G2030 3.0 Ghz
RAM > 4GB ddr3 1333 Mhz Kingston
GPU > Sapphire R7-240 1gb 128bit DDR5
RES > 1366*768 Display

This is very low end. DOTA is a super easy game to run so it should run it well, I don't know about max settings though. At that resolution, you can probably get high or max.

Dota 2 u mean? well, thats what im also thinking but I need someone who has tried this build or close to this that can make my mind clear about this one. I dont want to waste money for this Vcard, I can go for R7-250 ddr5 if thats really needed but if r7-240 ddr5 can do the job so why not settle for this? I could save 500 Bucks.

It looks like your budget is low and for the money this will get you comfortably playing dota 2.

Yeah, youre right dude, im on a low budget. I just want to play Dota 2 at Max Settings with Vsync ON running @ 60 FPS stable on any situation, can r7-240 ddr5 do the job or i'll just have to jump to r7-250 ddr5? -_-

The r7 240 is about the same as a 6670. Maybe like 1-3% better but nothing noticeable really.

SO if we add 40% of the frames to the score for the 6670 at high settings we get 49.56 frames adjusted for your resolution.

This is as accurate as it gets. With your resolution on high settings, you will get 50fps AVERAGE and 42 minimum.

BUT they had an i5 in their build and you have a Pentium so we have to account for this as well. Take off 10% performance for this as DOTA 2 will still run very well on the dual core Pentium.

This leaves you with an average of 44.6fps at high settings and minimum of 37.8fps. on YOUR SPECIFIC HARDWARE.

There you go. This is how your system will perform. EXACTLY. Using calculations and science.

You'll be fine man, I have a 3 year old laptop with integrated HD 3000 that I use on the road. It runs Dota 2 fine on low settings and that graphics card is at least 10x + better, meaning you'll be able to get the settings you want at that resolution.

No he will not get 60fps at highest settings. I did the calculations. The performance curve is not linear at all. It is VERY exponential.

Even though the GPU is alot better, it is at the bottom of the curve, if he went to something only like 2x as powerful than the r7 240, he will EASILY max the game and get alot better than 2x the performance.

This is a fact most people do not consider.

I can't find any benchmarks with those specs, but I found some info that was close enough.

At the highest settings and 1680x1050, the HD 6670 and GT 630 both manage to stay above 30 FPS at all times. If we look at the GPU hierarchy chart, the HD 6670 is on the same tier as the R7 240 and the GT 630 is a tier lower. While 30 FPS isn't great (but it's playable), you should be able to get more as you are playing at a lower resolution (59% the pixels).

4 GB of RAM is just fine, it's what I had before upgrading.

On to the CPU: the X2 260 has no problem maintaining decent framerates (and is 2 tiers below the G2020.

In short, you should have a solid 40 FPS at all times (and maybe more).

WOW! dude.. that was so nice and completely accurate calculations there. So, R7-240 is really a fail one. ZzZz..
How about if I jumped to GTX 650 1GB DDR5 128BIT since im also considering that even the R7-250 1gb ddr5 128bit cant also make, will I be able to run the Game Vsynced @ 58-60 or almost stable 60 FPS at any game situation? hmm...

thank you for that dude,. i want to play the game @ 60 FPS almost stable like 58-60 fluctuation at any game situation.

How about changing my GPU from R7-240 to GTX 650 1gb ddr5 128bit?

Ok.. Dude, im wondering w/c one is faster, gtx 650 or HD 7770, here in our place, the 7770 cost a bit cheaper.

Aahhm.. Not branded dude, not those 80+ bronze, silver etc. Either. Just atx psu 600 watts, can it handle?

The PSU is THE MOST IMPORTANT part of a PC BY FAY. DO NOT get a generic one. Get a 450-500w unit from Antec, Corsair, XFX, Seasonic. A low end PSU can fry your whole system easily.

GEt an Antec VP-450. CHeap and AMAZING quality.

The Antec VP-450 is like $38. It is not officially 80+ rated but it qualify for 80+ silver ratings.

do I need to get the Antec VP-450 only if im getting the 7770?
or even if im getting the gtx 650, i still need it?

You should have a reliable PSU no matter what is in your build. Both the 650 and 7770 will use similar amounts of power and 450w will be perfect.
