Can I run it?

Hey Guys! i am finalizing my current build for awhile till i can hold down a job (not so easy when your 16 lol) heres is my set up that i will have put together out of a used custom antec fusion build i bought off of a guy =)

PSU=500w antec
CPU= intel core 2 quad 2.66 GHz Q9400
MOBO= DG35EC
CASE= Antec Fusion (Home entertainment computer that was converted into light gaming computer)
GPU= Current is geforce 8500gt in a few weeks ill get a Radeon HD 7770 Double D XFX Edition
WIndows 7 Ultimate
RAM= 4GB DDR2 (idk 533 or 800 mhz)

in a few months i am going to upgrade to a amd quad core 4100 based machine with an asrock am3+ 990fx mobo

In all i just want to know if my computer will be "borderlands 2 ready" for the next few months until i secure enough money for better parts... that was a lot lol

It might work, if it does, expect the lowest settings. The 8800GT is most of the time the minimum card required for games, and your a bit under that. The 7770 will perform quite well though, as I imagine borderlands isn't all that of an intensive game.

When you upgrade, I would suggest the older AMD Phenom II x4 965 over a low end Bulldozer chip, the FX-4100 in particular. Bulldozer isn't all that optimized for games, more for multi-threaded tasks, which it wont succeed in anyway due to only 4 cores. Depending on where you get it, it might even be cheaper.

When you upgrade the CPU and mobo, you will have to change the RAM as the new board wont support DDR2. This is a good 8GB kit of fairly standard RAM.

Yes, my current intel hd graphics + pentium dual core can run borderlands 1, no problem.

You should be alright, on some LOW settings.

@manofchalk thanks ill get right on that and i was thinking something was up when everyone i knew was suggesting an older phenom to the newer bulldozer.

I'm getting the HD 7770, my friend has one, he plays BF3 on Ultra, Borderlands on Highest settings and Arma 2 with no lag on decent settings, definately a card worth picking up!

alright looks like i gotta save some cash when i get it from mowing lawns lol! i also plan on getting the Leap if anyone else saw it =)
