Hello

I have 1600mhz motherboard and one 8gb ram of 1600mhz on it. Now im getting 1866mhz of ram from my friend with lower price. so can i put new 1866mhz ram with my old 1600mhz ram on my 1600mhz motherboard?

It might work but if it does they will both run at 1600mhz. Also mhz on its own is meaningless, you need to factor in CAS latency. A low latency 1600mhz could be faster than a high latency 1866mhz.

The only thing you can do is try it but even if the PC boots you still might encounter stability problems or it might work no problem at all.
it should work the issue is, the 1866 will just run at 1600 which means it will be slow for the given latency. your best bet is to put in the 1866 and set its timings to match that on the 1600 and then put in the 1600. just note mixing RAM can be a bit of a Crap-shoot, sometimes what works fine for one person refuses to work for another.
