Will I be able to run the newest games out as of this post and gta 5 in a month with this system?

resolution will be played at 1920x1080

i5 4570 3.2Ghz (3.6 Turbo)

16GB of DDR3 1600 HyperX black

EVGA GTX 980 Superclocked ACX 2.0

OP get 8gb RAM and you'll have the exact same performance. You could also get an R9 290 and have a very good, as well as $300 cheaper gaming experience at max settings. 980s are a fair bit overkill unless you're at >1080p

Watch Dogs and Unity are garbage games when it comes to optimization. You could have a $2500 rig and still have problems running it. Crysis 3 is also the most graphically advanced game on the market now. Those are literally the only 3 games you'd have any issues with (Maybe throw DayZ in there as well)

That's the thing though, buying a 550$ + single GPU you expect to play with no restrictions at 1080p. But if you have to lower some settings even on the newest GPU , the fuck is happening?

8xMSAA. That's a ridiculously unreasonable amount of AA. Most people use 4x MAX. There is no visual difference between 4x and 8x. AA is a frame rate killer. Couple that with the fact that Farcry 4 is an extremely graphics intensive game, and you'll get low fps. In a real life situation, you would not get fps this low (Unless you used 8xMSAA but honestly, nobody uses 8xMSAA)

So in reality I can't really " max " the game out.

I guess not. Might as well use PhysX as well and get 25fps on top of that 8xMSAA

Sorry, I'm just kinda depressed that I'm spending so much money on the so called single most powerful GPU out right now and it can't even max out every setting at 1080p and attain a steady 60 FPS.

Will GPUs ever catch up to games? like come the fuck on.

This happened back when I first got my 260, then my 760, and now too..

It's the games that have to optimized, not the GPUs. You can't develop a GPU to run on a game
