Question Can I still use my motherboard if a PCIe slot was torn off?

When pulling a graphics card out of my old computer, the PCIe slot came with it. I'm considering reusing this motherboard, and want to know if it's safe to use before I accidentally fry a CPU. None of the pins are bent, only the plastic connector piece is missing. Any advice is appreciated.

I straightened all the pins (none are touching) so I think it should be safe. Thanks.
