after the death of my abit bh6 mobo i went and bought a abit be6 II v 2.0 with a hipoint raid controller onboard, my question is, can i switch my hard drives off of my promise fast track 66 contorller and not loose data? they are configured in raid 0.

thanks for the help in advance.

III think not... the RAID setup is stored in an EEprom including drive information and type of array (I'm fairly sure that's where it gets stored anyways).. If there was a way to get that information and put it in the bios of the Highpoint, I don't know how. It wouldn't be easy and would require specialized equipment.

But if you have a large enough spare drive you could backup the raid setup on the spare.. move the harddrives over.. rebuild the array, fdisk, format, and move it back.
