Can I sync to ipod playerwindows 7 media player

Hi, can you tell me if I can sync my ipod on Windows 7 Media player.

When you plug in your IPOD it will come up with a window allowing you to open and view the files as well as other instructions of which you have a choice in selecting.

I prefer to close the window, run the media player, selecting or setting up a player list which could incorporate the files from the ipod??????
