[SOLVED] Can I update msi x58 pro e motherboard bios for Xeon x5675. But I don't have core i7 1st gen processor.

First sorry, my English is not so good.

So i have Xeon x5675 cpu. I find a msi x58 pro-e motherboard form my local shop. So I read many articles and find some YouTube videos.i see I must need to update bios for useing xeon. But I don't have a core i7 1at gen cpu. Should I get into bios with use of Xeon x5675 without updateing bios.


Please help me

As far as I can tell the Xeon x5675 and the x58 chipset are incompatible.

The MSI site for the motherboard doesn't list the Xeon x5675 as a compatible CPU. I would double check the sources you've found with the above links.

The MSI X58 Pro-E motherboard supports only one Xeon model, the Xeon W3520.

Your Xeon x5675 is therefore not supported.

Sometimes you need to boot an older 45nm Nehalem CPU so you can update the Bios to run the 32nm Westmere versions. The low end Nehalem 3500 Xeons are very cheap. Maybe you could buy one and then resell it.
