Unfortunately, no.

You've already got the best processor that motherboard supports, so you'd have to perform a complete core system overhaul (CPU/Motherboard/RAM). Given your budget, I'd probably be looking at:

PCPartPicker Part List

CPU: Intel Core i5-9400F 2.9 GHz 6-Core Processor (£129.59 @ Aria PC)
Motherboard: MSI Z390-A PRO ATX LGA1151 Motherboard (£99.99 @ Box Limited)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-2400 Memory (£61.99 @ Amazon UK)
Total: £291.57
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

or

PCPartPicker Part List

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor (£178.79 @ Aria PC)
Motherboard: MSI B450M PRO-M2 MAX Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard (£74.98 @ Amazon UK)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory (£71.99 @ Aria PC)

The processors should be able to run any game on the market today.
The motherboards should have no problems running VR. They have the necessary USB3 ports. Does your case have front USB3 ports?

With those boards, you can upgrade to current generation Core I7/Ryzen 7 processors. There's no way of telling if future generations will be compatible.

yeah thats fine thanks just wanted a base for more upgrades out of the 2 what would be the best option for that or would both be the same again thanks for your help

What would be the best option for what?

For upgrading? Again, no way of telling if the new generation of processors is going to be compatible until Intel/AMD say so.
For gaming? Pretty much a coin toss if you don't need every single scrap of processing power

However, if we were to assume that the only upgrades for the current motherboards were the current generation of processors, then the Intel side would probably be more cost effective; getting a much higher performance boost.

Now, in my personal opinion, if you intend to upgrade from these suggested processors, then don't bother with either of them. Wait until you can afford the processors on this generation of motherboard that you want. Keep your current system until you can afford an Intel I7/Ryzen 7 upgrade (or Intel I9/Ryzen 9).
