Can I upgrade this cpu?

I want to upgrade my i3 to an i5 here are my stats...

Current CPU: i3 3220 @ 3.30GHZ
Motherboard and socket: Intel Ivy bridge H61 and LGA 1155
BIOS: AMI Version 8.10
Can i upgrade from these stats?

I would recommand you to ditch your PC and build a new one from scratch. LGA 1155 is a quite old socket. You could get decent and recent CPUs for half the price of a possible upgarde.

Of course you can and prices are still decent (cheaper to grab a 1155 CPU then do a full rebuild). You can get the i5 3550 for around $220 but if your gaming and have a dedicated GPU then I would grab the Intel Xeon E3-1230 V2 3.3GHz Quad-Core for $223. It will give you i7 performance for much cheaper.

Which motherboard is it? Brand and model
Or if it's an OEM board/ prebuilt PC, the brand and exact model of the PC system.

Ivy Bridge is not that old. You can definitely find a used i5 or i7 from that generation for a decent price as an upgrade.

Of course a CPU upgrade is possible and a good way to boost the performance of the PC. Before upgrading, check the motherboard's homepage and look for a cpu compatibility list. Eventually a bios update is necessary, but without the exact brand and model of the motherboard or the PC, I can't get you more info.
