Hello there, this is my first post on tom'shardware forum. My question is can i connect my old monitor ac adapter to my monitor?

Old Monitor : AOC e2243Fwk 12V-3.0 Output AC Adapter
New Monitor : Acer ED240Q 12V - 2A Input

My PC internet says "a network cable is not properly plugged in or may be broken" error when its connected to new monitor, but works fine with my old monitor. I browsed many forums for the solution, someone told that the monitor power adapter may be interrupting the wifi-router adapter. Can someone please solve this issue..?

I'm posting detailed power supply specs to confirm,

New monitor adapter says - Input: 100-240V ~ 50/60hz 0.75A Max, Output: 12V-2A
Old monitor AC adapter says - Input:100-240V ~ 50/60Hz 1.3A, Output: 12Vdc-3A

So, i'm trying to connect old monitor ac adapter to the new one. Can i do this...?

What is polarity and how to know the polarity of the monitor?
Both the adapter and the monitor should have a sticker on them or have a symbol like this embossed in the plastic, otherwise you have to look it up in the manuals.
The central symbol shows the plugs and to the right it shows what the central pin is while on the left it shows what the outside of the plug is.

New monitor adapter shows positive polarity symbol and old monitor adapter shows negative polarity symbol. I assume its not safe to connect, right...?
