Hello, I have got two routers one being my main virgin one and the other is an old one that is not in use. My main router is downstairs and my computer is upstairs currently using a Wi-Fi dongle which looses connection a lot of the time, I have been wanting to use an Ethernet cable for a while now but you know what mums a cables are like.

I was wondering if there was a way to connect my two routers together so that the second one can be upstairs acting like a booster so that I can connect that to my computer via ethernet cable rather than having a long cable running through the house?

Solution
In a residential situation, 2 'routers' are rarely the solution.
You need an Access point, or a range extender.
Or a better WiFi device. Or powerline devices.
I had similar issue, but you can use different solution, costs about 35+ euro (in my country) it worked 4-5 years then connection started to drop...
POWERLINE solution so you plug ethernet cable from router to adapter -> adapter in power -> second adapter at your PC -> ethernet from adapter to PC

PS router antena is little wierd try rotate router in different directions for better signal ( including flipping can help)
