Can I use my old CPU cooler I got from a i3 6100 on a i5 6600k cpu?

I am going to buy this mobo from microcenter, http://www.microcenter.com/product/473028/PRIME_Z270-P_LGA_1151_ATX_Intel_Motherboard This will be my second build from intel and I just knew a couple of weeks ago that intel k processors dont come with a cpu cooler.


I plan on overclocking but I already am going over my budget and buying as new cooler like the 212 evo would really set me over my budget. So I am witholding overclocking now until next month where ill buy a cooler.

Next question is which air cooler would be good for my i5 6600k?

no, i wouldnt put a stock cooler on a 6600k. it might just cut it at stock settings but no one would want to use it.

save 35 bucks and get a cryorig h7.

The stock cooler already struggles to cool a i3 so I wouldn't recommend it but it will work.
