Hello!
I would like some help from the community on this! I currently have a 1tb HDD with Win7 installed on it. I want to buy a SSD so i can boot from there, install some games etc. My problem is that I can't format my HDD at the moment. So, if I install a second instance of Win7 on my SSD or even Win8, will it work? Will I be able to see my HDD when I boot from my SSD?
Thank you in advance!

You cannot install the same Windows license on both hard drives, but you can install Windows 7 on one drive and Windows 8.1 on another drive. Just be sure to format both drives and install Windows 7 first. Alternatively, you can use a migration tool, such as Intel Migration Tool for Intel SSDs, to transfer everything, including Windows 7, from the HDD to the SSD. Be sure to format the HDD afterwards. Then you can use the HDD for games, music, backups, etc.

I see. But can it be done without formating the HDD? Or is it mandatory to the process?

Thank you both very much for your answers! It's good to know. :)
