I just discovered a hard drive I was using for extraneous storage was somehow, on my part, accidentally converted to a "dynamic disk".
I always wondered what that meant when I've seen that option before, and now I know.
As I said, extraneous - I remember some of what I went to copy over to the drive, now I'm not sure whether it's even there, it's not that big of a deal to just convert the disc back to basic and move on, but I was thinking perhaps if I created a virtual OS with either Windows XP or Windows Vista I could actually see what was on the drive.
