I just discovered a hard drive I was using for extraneous storage was somehow, on my part, accidentally converted to a "dynamic disk".

I always wondered what that meant when I've seen that option before, and now I know.

As I said, extraneous - I remember some of what I went to copy over to the drive, now I'm not sure whether it's even there, it's not that big of a deal to just convert the disc back to basic and move on, but I was thinking perhaps if I created a virtual OS with either Windows XP or Windows Vista I could actually see what was on the drive.

Xp will should see it, Vista needs to be the Ultimate edition. W7 needs to be Pro or better.

You'll need to figure out how to pass the disk to the VM though.
