I recently bought a 1070 second hand (probably a bad idea) and noticed games like iRacing and MS Flight Simulator have strange artifacts with some textures, same thing happens on Heaven benchmark and games with Directx 12 crash before anything appears on screen. I've uninstalled, reinstalled and rolled back drivers and still the same thing happens. Also used a RX 580 before it and that worked fine aswell. I looked at my GPU's 8 pin plug and noticed one of the 8 squares/other shapes are different to one on my PCIe cable but it's still snug fit, I'm just wondering if that makes any difference to voltage or if my GPU is just dying.

What video card were you running prior?
Maybe you need to erase and reinstall drivers.
DDU can work to clean it out completely.
Then after that if its still doing it buy a new HDMI or DP wire.

What do you mean by incorrect PCIe wires?

ASUS Radeon RX 580 4GB
I have tried that
I've yet to clean it after getting it, I've noticed the heatsink is quite dusty

I've tried circling what I mean but this is the socket on my current GPU and the same pin on my PCIe cable isn't square. it's the other shape
