With ram getting so cheap it is a shame that we don't see a new IRAM product that supports 24 gigs of ram for this type of caching instead. Imagine it... running cached data our of ram and then matching whatever write performance capability your source disk has!

Just spent half hour reading an article about Z68 (referencing the amazing Quick Sync) that links to this article about Quick Sync, and I still don't know wtf Quick Sync is... Should have skipped the useless blah blah blah and googled it in the first place! What a waste of time.

[citation][nom]article[/nom]The performance drop attributable to Virtu is relatively minor in both cases. Although the GeForce GTX 580 takes a larger performance hit, I still consider >90 frames per second in Bad Company 2 well worth picking up Quick Sync support.[/citation]

It's normal for the 580 to take a larger performance hit as its memory runs at a much lower clock than the 6970

This is a great way to overcome Intel's ridiculous limitations on QuickSync. And the review itself provided me with a lot of info on how games work. Thank you toms.

[citation][nom]article[/nom]I wished the intelI believe both of those things are planned in an update. Even until that happens, though, I’d be happy to use Virtu, just to work around a limitation Intel should have addressed on its own.[/citation]

Well this doesn't feel like a coincidence.I think Intel wanted somebody to develop a tool much like FUSION but wanted it to be operational on AMD & Nvidia GPUs. I think Intel made a deal with Lucid. This may seem paranoid but it's a gut-feeling.

fusion tech works for both Nvidia and ATI GPu's cards i am running a GTX480 + HD5800 series on a MSI870A and it runs sweet i am not to sure about how to work or what not but i know both cards are in 16x slots and it fly's 😀

i get like 200-300 fps in black ops if that helps!

"Another Abstraction Layer"
Equivalent of saying more software screwed onto the hardware to re-arrange a job that could have been implemented better.

The other side that sticks in the throat is that some of this software is free (Time Limited Demo) Single Card Only Dual Card but you will have to pay extra and extra extra (sic) for that privileged.

With listings of what is and is not compatible maybe AMD is a better way to go.

Am I right in my understanding that this does not support 120Hz or any monitor resolution over 1920x1200?

Am I right in understanding from this that if using Lucidlogix, you will not be able to run 120Hz and therefore 3D Vision? And you also cannot run any resolution over 1920x1200?
