Hi i'm just wondering if anybody knows if my 250 W psu can run an upgraded Nvidia card?
My current graphics is an integrated nvidia 6150se 3d with 128 mb of shared memory.
My system is

Compaq Presario SR5240AN
AMD Athlon 64 x 2 dual core 4600+, 2.4 ghz
3 GB DDR2 ram
Nvidia 6150se 3d with 128 MB shared memory
PSU 250 watts Max, 14 Amps on 12 V rail
1 Empty PCI-E slot

windows experience scores are

processor 4.9, ram 4.8 and graphics 3.

I don't really want to upgrade the psu and have a card that is way better than my processor, i'd just like to upgrade the card so it will be a little more game friendly until i can afford to get a new system.
Please be kind with your replies :hello:

Solution
Based on the review, the HD 5570 consumed a maximum of 20w under gaming conditions.

That's not excessive for a 250w PSU. The other components in the OP's PC are not power hogs.
