Hello i'm upgrading my graphics card from a 1060 6g and i want to make the jump to a 1080 but my processor is a i5 6600 3.4ghz, will these two components work well together and will i get solid 60fps in games?

Solution
Then the GTX 1080 is a waste of money - unless you're somehow getting it very cheap. It's overkill for your resolution and refresh rate.

The CPU isn't the issue in this case.

Honestly a GTX 1660 Super would probably be the best bet. It'll give you 1080p @ 60fps in the vast majority of the games, and will cost less. And, is new with a full warranty.
