Can My PSU power Evga GTX 970 SSC ACX 2.0

I know this has been asked a lot before but none of them has the same other components as I do so,
First of all I have a prebuilt Hp Envy 700-531nx PC and I want to upgrade my Graphics card to EVGA GTX 970 SSC ACX 2.0 so will my 500w PSU run this card?

I'm on a very tight budged so buying both the graphics card and a PSU is too much, So will the GPU work or should I just forget it?

Your PSU has enough juice to power the GPU, but you have connectors to worry about as well. That particular model of GTX 970 requires 1 8-pin and 1 6-pin power connector. If your PSU has those, great! If not, you'll need to use the adapters included with the GPU, which is kind of sketchy IMO and not something I'd be comfortable using. If you're OK with using the adapters, you'll still need 2 6-pin connectors from the PSU as well as 2 Molex connectors, so you can use the Molex connectors from the PSU to power the 6-pin connector on the card and the 2 6-pins from the PSU to feed the 8-pin on the card. This'll look janky btw, if cable management is important to you. If your PSU doesn't have 2 each of 6-pin and Molex connectors, I'd look at a less power-hungry GPU like a GTX 960, particular the 75W version that only need power from the PCIe slot.

If your psu doesn't have extra pcie connections, I'd recommend you look at the Asus STRIX 970. It requires a single 8pin pcie which can be adaptered from 2 molex plugs from 2 separate lines. The separate lines are important as a single line can't handle the required amperage.

Has four 12v rails with different amps on each. If you run into any problems, get a better PSU.

Get a PSU that's Tier 1 or 2 like a Seasonic S12II-620 or a XFX TS PSU.
